A guide to visiting Llandudno with your dog
If you're looking for a dog-friendly holiday in Wales, you need to put Llandudno on your list.
Known as the Queen of the Welsh Resorts, Llandudno has that wonderfully nostalgic British seaside feel – a long promenade, traditional architecture, the famous pier and, towering above it all, the Great Orme.
It's also incredibly photogenic. If you enjoy taking photos of your dog when you're away, you'll be spoilt for choice.

The Great Orme is impossible to miss – and you really shouldn't!
This huge limestone headland rises above Llandudno and gives you some spectacular views over the town and coastline.
For dogs who love a proper adventure, there are plenty of walking opportunities around the Great Orme.
Just remember that this isn't necessarily a gentle stroll. Take water for both of you, wear sensible footwear and keep your dog under control, particularly around livestock and wildlife.
And if you don't fancy tackling the whole thing on foot, you can also ride the Great Orme Tramway, the UK's only cable-hauled tramway, which has been carrying visitors up the headland since 1902. It’s a lovely way to enjoy the scenery without tackling the steep climb on foot.
Dogs are welcome on the tramway, although they must be kept under control and may be subject to the operator’s current conditions, so it’s worth checking the latest guidance before you travel. The tramway is seasonal and services can be affected by weather, so check the timetable before setting off.
One of the easiest ways to explore Llandudno is simply to walk.
The promenade gives you wonderful views across the bay, while the Victorian buildings provide a beautiful backdrop for photographs.
Then there's Llandudno Pier, stretching out into the sea and giving you one of those classic British seaside views.
Dogs are not permitted on any Llandudno beaches between May 1st and September 30th
