As dog parents, we love including Coco in our outings, especially during festive occasions like Chinese New Year. Leaving her home alone during this special time just doesn’t feel right, so having a dog-friendly restaurant like Din Tai Fung makes all the difference.

As you approach the restaurant, you’re treated to a mesmerising view: chefs meticulously handcrafting fresh dumplings behind a glass window. Their precision and skill are truly something to behold. Forbes even declared these dumplings the World’s Greatest Dumplings—and once you taste them, you’ll know exactly why!

I’ve been a huge fan of Din Tai Fung for years, having visited their branches in Hong Kong and Taiwan countless times. It’s one of my all-time favourite restaurants, so I was absolutely thrilled when they opened several locations in London. The fact that this one in Selfridges is dog-friendly makes it even more special!

Now, let’s talk about their famous dumplings. They are delicate, flavourful, and filled with a delicious soup that bursts in your mouth. Eating them is an experience in itself! Here’s my go-to method: I carefully pick up the dumpling with chopsticks, dip it lightly into a mix of soy sauce and vinegar, then place it on a spoon. I top it with a bit of shredded ginger and then savour the entire thing in one bite. It’s an absolute delight every single time.

Beyond dumplings, their other dishes are just as incredible, making it the perfect place for any occasion—whether it’s celebrating Chinese New Year or simply treating yourself to something special.
