The Horse & Groom

Updated: Jan 9, 2025

The perfect place to rest your paws on a Cotswold mini break.

After the humans being so sick in September, we decided to treat them to some fresh air in the Cotswolds countryside.
What could be better than a night in an English Inn with your pooches by your side?

The Horse & Groom is in a little village near Malmesbury. While we waited for our room to be ready, we enjoyed a couple of Butcombe beers by the fireside in the cosy bar.

Nacho quickly noticed the jar of treats on the bar just for us! Okay we will share a few with the other visitors!

Up in our room we found two comfy beds waiting for us and the humans had one of their own too! The room was spacious with lots of light from the window from where we could see the autumn colours of the village.
Female human treated herself by relaxing in the roll top bath and using the Bramley Products provided.

Time for dinner! The humans found it hard to choose from the menu as it all looked good. In the end, she went for a burger and he had fishcakes. They loved that the ingredients were seasonal and locally sourced and even better - some of it is grown in the pub's own kitchen garden!
We’re passionate about great food and drink at The Horse & Groom and take pride in creating delicious seasonal dishes and innovative takes on pub classics using the freshest ingredients and local produce from our Westcountry larder, including herbs and vegetables from our very own kitchen garden.

After a great night's sleep (the inn is on a busy road but is very quiet at night) we went for a stroll through the village and explored the pub garden.
The garden is very pretty with loads of space to dine al fresco in warmer weather.

We also discovered The Horse & Groom has a large event space where they host comedy nights and where humans can celebrate special occasions or even get married. Unfortunately, there was no proposal on this holiday!

Enough exploring now humans! It's time for breakfast.
Nacho spotted sausage on the menu and ordered us one each.

Meanwhile, the humans very strangely refused sausage and opted for Poached Eggs with Avo and Shakshuka.
We may never understand some of the things they like to eat but they loved it.

We had a quick snooze back in the room while the humans decided what we would do for the rest of the day.

The Horse & Groom is perfectly located for exploring the sights of Wiltshire and the South Cotswolds and is only a short drive from Westonbirt Arboretum, Tetbury and Castle Combe. You can find out more about visiting these beautiful places in our Dog Friendly Cotswolds blog.

We highly recommend a four legged vacation at The Horse & Groom. David and his staff made us feel so welcome and we loved every minute of our stay.
The Inn is a Butcombe Brewing Co Inn who have a collection of pubs and inns across the south of England.
We look forward to exploring more of them!

A heartfelt and engaging piece like The Horse Groom is always a pleasure to come across — especially when it highlights dedication, care and meaningful connection in a way that people across the United Kingdom can genuinely appreciate without overcomplicating things. Stories that celebrate compassion, everyday passion and thoughtful work feel way more uplifting than most generic content floating around. I like how the author keeps the focus on real-world insight and authentic experience without any unnecessary fuss.

The piece on The Horse Groom from Woofabout feels like a warm tribute to a job that’s often overlooked but so crucial in equine care. There’s genuine respect in how the role is described the patience, strength, and connection needed to work with horses day in and day out. It highlights how much skill goes into grooming beyond just brushing and cleaning, reflecting a deep understanding of animal behaviour and wellbeing.

Reading Midnight Wins it brings that sense of appreciation for all the little tasks that contribute to a horse’s comfort and trust. This kind of insight makes you value the people behind the scenes who help keep these animals healthy and happy.

A clean and simple post like The Horse Groom is always good to see — especially when it highlights real care and connection with animals in a genuine way. Stories like this are way more engaging than most generic content floating around. I like how writers let the subject shine without overcomplicating things. Sometimes I bookmark random posts just to come back later, the same way I once saved a link like betti casino during casual browsing in United Kingdom— not for the name, but because it popped up in a totally unexpected context and stuck in my mind.

Anyway, solid and thoughtful overall. Perfect for anyone who appreciates equestrian life, and definitely worth a quic…

Hi everyone! A couple of weeks ago, while browsing UK forums about online entertainment, a friend suggested I try https://hellofortune.org.uk/. I wasn’t expecting much at first, just curious about the variety of games. I started with some slots, and honestly, the first few spins didn’t go my way—I was ready to log off. But then I noticed a card game that seemed fun, so I gave it a shot. Slowly, the luck shifted, and I recovered my earlier losses. By the end, I even earned a bit more than I initially planned. The site felt clean and easy to navigate, and the overall experience turned out surprisingly entertaining for a casual evening.

While staying in Belfast, I noticed how well https://luckyboys.co.uk handles high-definition graphics. Even with a lot of visual content, the site remains very snappy. I believe that speed is a form of respect for the user's time. It is clearly a well-maintained site that puts performance at the very top of the list.
