A Lovely Weekend at The Pheasant Inn
Baxter and I recently stayed at The Pheasant Inn in Berkshire. Tucked away in Shefford Woodlands, this charming country pub with rooms is the kind of place where you immediately feel welcome. Surrounded by rolling countryside and just minutes from the M4, it feels both peaceful and accessible, making it an ideal choice for a short escape.
The inn itself has all the character you would expect from a historic coaching inn. Exposed beams, open fires and thoughtful touches in the décor give it plenty of atmosphere. It manages to balance the cosiness of a village pub with the comfort of a boutique hotel, which makes it equally appealing for a quiet drink by the fire or a longer weekend away.
From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. Our room was warm and inviting, with soft furnishings and country-inspired styling that instantly felt relaxing.
Waiting for Baxter was a Happy Dog Hamper from The Canine Menu, complete with chews and tasty treats to keep him busy during our stay. It was such a thoughtful welcome and immediately set the tone for a dog friendly visit where Baxter was just as important a guest as I was.
Dinner in the pub did not disappoint. The lamb was beautifully presented and full of flavour, and the sticky toffee pudding was rich, indulgent and the perfect way to finish the meal. While I enjoyed my food, Baxter was treated to his own puppuccino from the dedicated puppuccino bar. Seeing him included in the dining experience was a highlight of the evening, and it really underlined how much care the team puts into welcoming dogs as part of the family.
After a restful night’s sleep in our comfortable room, we made our way down for breakfast. The morning menu offered a variety of choices and I opted for smashed avocado on sourdough topped with poached eggs. It was fresh, filling and beautifully prepared. Baxter, never one to be left out, happily settled down with one of the buffalo chews from his hamper. Sitting together while I enjoyed my coffee and he worked through his treat was the perfect start to the day.
What really stood out throughout our stay was the friendliness of the staff. They were warm, attentive and always ready to make a fuss of Baxter. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and that level of hospitality made the experience feel special. It was more than just an overnight stay; it was a chance to properly relax, switch off and enjoy time together in a setting that felt both homely and indulgent.
We weren’t quite ready to head home after checking out, so we took advantage of the inn’s location and made a stop at Avebury Stone Circle before beginning our journey back. I’ll be sharing more about that in my next post.

I was about to give up on online gaming entirely after a terrible losing streak last month that left me feeling pretty frustrated. A friend from Manchester told me to change my strategy and try a different platform that he had been using recently. I followed his advice and loaded up https://prwd.co.uk/ during my weekend downtime. To my absolute surprise, my luck turned around completely on the second spin. I not only recovered everything I lost earlier that week but also finished the night with a substantial bonus in my balance. It was an incredibly satisfying turnaround that genuinely restored my confidence.
I was on the absolute verge of scraping my entire digital desktop layout mockup, completely frustrated from trying to balance a full-sized workspace configuration with a highly restrictive project schedule, when a notification lit up my tablet with a recommended link. Deep into the night, with my eyes straining from checking grid alignments and layout clearances, I moved to the armchair and grabbed a handful of almonds to munch on. I was instantly struck by how calm and unburdened the entire interface felt, creating a wonderful retreat from the crowded design software that had been draining my energy all evening. I took a slow sip of water, stretched my tired legs out, and felt the lingering tension from a frantic…
During an argument I stumbled upon in a gaming forum, people were debating whether stricter regulation in online platforms actually improves the experience or just limits it too much in 2026. That conversation led me into a broader explanation of how user experience changes under different systems. It stayed quite balanced and focused on practical effects rather than opinions. I opened https://greekembassy.org.uk/ from a reference inside the content while following the thread. From my UK perspective, this topic keeps resurfacing in different communities lately.
Stuck inside during a windy evening in the UK, I ended up browsing random gaming forums while pretending to organise old emails. One discussion about dramatic comeback sessions mentioned Betiton Casino, so eventually curiosity convinced me to give it a try. The first thing I noticed was how simple the navigation felt compared to other sites where finding anything becomes a challenge. I spent some time testing different games and honestly thought the session would end badly because my balance disappeared faster than expected. Right when I was about to quit, one feature round suddenly changed everything. I recovered what I’d lost and still managed to finish ahead by the end of the evening. The funniest part was realising I’d…
A friend from the UK gaming community kept mentioning Cherry gold casino during our weekly voice chats, so I eventually gave it a try one evening after work. I wasn’t expecting anything special, just wanted something to pass time while listening to music. The site felt smooth and didn’t take long to figure out. I went through a rough start where nothing seemed to land properly and I nearly stopped. Then a lucky sequence turned things around completely. I actually reacted out loud because I wasn’t expecting it to flip so suddenly. Ended up staying online longer than I planned just to ride the feeling a bit more.
