  • The Dog Nutritionist

Cam The Dog Nutritionist came along to one of our first events in January to tell us all about the benefits of a raw food diet and we all got to take home some of his tasty Natural Chews. Now some of the humans can be a bit squeamish about these chews because they are completely natural which means they are animal parts such as chicken feet and cows hooves but we doggies love them and they are excellent for our teeth and gums. Did you know that Periodental Disease is the most common disorder in UK dogs, with around 80% of adult dogs suffering from this? So it’s important to get the right food and treats to combat this, especially if you’re not good at chewing your food. Visit https://www.thedognutritionist.co.uk/ where there is loads of advice about feeding us and you can also book consultations with Cam. Cam will be at our Chelsea Pop-Up Dog Market on 27th July to answer your questions regarding nutrition and hook you up with some of those tasty treats. https://www.twoterrierssocial.com/post/chelsea-pop-up-dog-marke t We look forward to seeing you there. • GoBoat London

I was recently invited to take a trip around the Regent’s Canal in my very own boat - well it was all mine for 2 hours! The humans packed a picnic and some snacks for me and headed to Paddington Station. The new exit from the station by platform 15 brings you out onto the canal path. The GoBoats are over a foot bridge and just a 5 minute walk from there. You will pass a large M&S in case there are any last minute picnic goodies you need to pick up. Each boat can easily seat 6 people and has a large central table so you can enjoy food and drink whilst taking in the sights. There is plenty of room for even my big doggie friends but probably best for the calmer dogs as I wouldn’t want you to rock the boat! GoBoat London is the only self-drive, powered boating experience in central London. The mission of GoBoat London is to make the canal waters accessible to all those who live in and visit London. There are 3 routes for 1, 2 or 3 hours. Our 2 hour journey took us past alongside Regent’s Park and London Zoo (we saw the warthogs) and once we reached Camden we turned around and headed back along the same route. There aren’t a great deal of landmarks to see but if the weather is nice it is a good way to spend a couple of hours with friends. You will see plenty of water birds including the very pretty mandarin ducks. The boat’s motors are very quiet and they don’t go very fast so not scary for us doggies. I’m not a great traveller but I was very relaxed and enjoyed all the attention of people passing by on the canal path. They loved my hat! I can now tick boating off my bucket list and hope some more of my friends will give it a try too. I look forward to seeing you in your hats.😜 **our GoBoat London experience was gifted. Prices start at £59 for 1 hour off-peak. Archie 🐾🐾 Need to know: You need to arrive 15 minutes before your booking to get instructions on route and how to operate the boat. The driver of the boat must stay sober. The driver needs to keep control at all times so you will need to take in turns if you all want to eat. If you are not used to steering boats it can take a bit of getting used to. There are life jackets for the humans but not for dogs so take your own if you are worried about going overboard!

  • The Hoxton Hotel

As a treat for working so hard at our Chelsea Pop-Up Dog Market, my humans took me for a mini break in Shoreditch, where we all spent the night at The Hoxton Hotel . We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and I was greeted by the receptionist who came out from behind the desk to give me a special welcome and chin tickle. She said to let her I know if I needed anything during my stay. The humans said this was a mistake as she had no idea how demanding I can be! Up in our room, which was small but very stylish and had everything we needed, there was a lovely comfy bed just for me and two bowls, which were empty so the humans quickly sorted that out before I reached for the phone. Before we went to explore the Shoreditch area, we went downstairs for a drink. The hotel has a huge dining, drinking and general chilling area. Some humans were even there working on their laptops with a coffee. I was allowed in all areas of the hotel so I chose the comfy sofa in front of the fireplace. The hotel does get very busy and they have a DJ so it can get loud but there is so much space that you can find a quieter spot somewhere and you won’t trip anyone up. They serve American inspired food all day and you can eat in the restaurant, bar or lounge area. “Our Shoreditch hotel is an all day destination with an open lobby where everyone is welcome, whether it’s to work, catch up over coffee, cosy up around the fireplaces or knock back a cocktail or two.” When we returned later it was really busy and there was a queue of humans waiting to get in. I felt like a VIP walking to the front and being welcomed in by the doormen. There were lots of humans who had been drinking that stuff that makes them silly and they all wanted to say hello to me. The music did get very loud but in our room we couldn’t hear it because they had very good windows which shut out the noise. We all had a good nights sleep and the humans woke up to a light breakfast waiting for them. Full breakfast was available downstairs in the restaurant but we had plans to go elsewhere. I enjoyed my stay at The Hoxton and it is perfectly located for exploring the many dog friendly places in Shoreditch. I look forward to trying their other London hotels in Holborn and Southwark. Maybe they could consider putting some welcome treats in one of those bowls next time 😜 Archie 🐾🐾

  • Sticks ‘n’ Sushi

My humans love Japanese food but they usually have to eat it at places I’m not allowed to go. Then they learnt that Sticks ‘n’ Sushi are dog friendly so we all went along to this restaurant on Kings Road to check them out. I was very welcome in the restaurant and water was brought for me - although it was on a plastic tray they use for takeaways! Good job I’m not fussy. The waiters did ask my name though and said hello to me. Sticks’n’Sushi serve high-quality, fresh food based on a unique combination of traditional sushi and yakitori sticks from the grill. So for those less keen on fish, there is a selection of chicken, pork, beef and vegetable skewers - all grilled fresh to order Not all my four-legged friends will (or can) eat anything so perhaps a good idea to take your own treats with you. I was more than happy to share the Beef Tataki with the humans and have recently discovered Edamame beans. The humans had a selection of dishes which they said were all delicious and they definitely want to go back to try more. They were really pleased to have found such a place where I can accompany them. Yet again Chelsea doesn’t disappoint when it comes to dog friendliness. They have 6 restaurants across London - all of which are dog friendly. Find out more here https://sticksnsushi.com/en I give Sticks n Sushi 2 paws. Archie 🐾🐾 P.s this is how I rate dog friendly places 1 paw - not really dog friendly, more dog tolerant! 2 paws - happy to accommodate us but more for the humans 3 paws - very dog friendly, worth going a little bit out of your way 4 paws - super dog friendly (e.g have dog menu) worth a special trip

  • Butternut Box

I was so pleased to be asked to be an Ambassador for Butternut Box as I’ve often thought it was my destiny to be a professional food taster! Every week the humans get all their human food delivered to our door and I get serious FOMO but now I get my very own box once a month and it’s much more exciting than theirs which usually has far too much green stuff in it for my liking. My Butternut Box, however, was filled with meaty goodness. I got the full selection of flavours as I’m not fussy and have no allergies so I am enjoying Gobble Gobble Turkey, Wham Bam Lamb, Beef It Up and Chow Down Chicken. Don’t worry if you don’t like any of those flavours though as every box is tailored to your own preferences. What we can all expect is 60% meat and grain free deliciousness. “For a can of dog food to be labelled as with chicken it only needs to contain 4% chicken. We think dogs deserve better. That’s why we only use ingredients that you can see and say.” Butternut Box is a subscription service which you can skip or stop at anytime. When you sign up you put in your details (my human did it for me because she knows I lie about my weight) so your box is made just for you with flavours you like and the right portion sizes. Then once a month your box arrives but you can’t tuck straight in as it comes frozen - Gaynor explained that is so it stays fresh. The humans then defrost it for you. Trust me, it’s worth the wait but apparently you don’t need to sit in the kitchen and watch it until it’s ready 😜 For more details and 75% off your first box visit butternutbox.com/TwoTerriers

  • Bluebird - Chelsea

In February I had the pleasure of accompanying the humans to their Valentines Day celebration at the Bluebird in Chelsea . This restaurant is a firm favourite of theirs and they have been many times over the years but they recently discovered it is dog friendly. I was allowed anywhere in the upstairs bar area, which was very quiet at 3.00pm so we sat in the window and I was immediately brought water by a waiter who was very happy to see me. The staff didn’t even mind me sitting on the seats. Whilst the humans enjoyed an afternoon tea, I tucked into my Forthglade Love Treats and a heart shaped cookie we picked up from Love My Human . “The bar and lounge area at Bluebird Chelsea is a destination in its own right. A perfect place to meet friends, go on a date, enjoy pre-dinner drinks or party the night away” As it was Valentines there were lovely flowers everywhere so plenty of photo opportunities and there is always plenty of people watching to be done on the Kings Road! We doggies are allowed in the outside area and in the cafe. They also have a cafe in White City, which is dog friendly. They used to do a doggie afternoon tea there so we need to campaign to get this back! I give Bluebird Chelsea 3 paws. Archie 🐾🐾 P.s this is how I rate dog friendly places 1 paw - not really dog friendly, more dog tolerant! 2 paws - worth a visit if you are in the area 3 paws - very dog friendly, worth going a little bit out of your way 4 paws - super dog friendly (e.g have dog menu) worth a special trip

  • The Little Blue Door Fulham

Behind an inconspicuous blue door on Fulham Road you will discover this funky little bar and restaurant with a cool story. A group of flatmates wanted to create a homely place where like-minded people could gather for drinks and food so they opened a place called Little Yellow Door in Notting Hill. They then decided to spread their great idea to Fulham with The Little Blue Door which opened in 2018. We are a young, growing brand pioneering a new slant on the hospitality industry. Our aim is to create venues which feel like walking into a home by styling them around a fictional flat share. The result is a bar and restaurant concept which is welcoming, inviting and unpretentious. Thanks to www.thedogvine.com and @empressmathilda , the humans discovered this cool place is also dog friendly so we headed there for brunch one Saturday morning. The guys who work there were really pleased to see me, they even brought me out a bed and some toys as well as water. I wasn’t so sure about the waiter in the top hat but he turned out to be really friendly! The humans said the brunch menu had a good selection and what they had was tasty. They could also help themselves to the ‘flatmates favourites’ table with as much juice, cereal and toast as they liked. The flatmates are opening more Little Doors around London so keep an eye on their website https://www.thelittledoorandco.com or follow them @thelittlebluedoorfulham I give this place 3 paws . Archie 🐾🐾 p.s. this is how I rate dog friendly places 1 paw - not really dog friendly, more dog tolerant! 2 paws - worth a visit if you are in the area 3 paws - very dog friendly, worth going a little bit out of your way 4 paws - super dog friendly (e.g have dog menu) worth a special trip

  • The Gallivant

Archie gives his thoughts on his stay at this East Sussex hotel. I decided to take the humans away for the weekend for Gaynor’s birthday and because I’m not too keen on being in the car for too long we headed to Camber Sands which is under 2 hours from home. This is one of my favourite beaches as it is pebble free and once you have climbed up and over the dunes, it is nice and flat - perfect for running and chasing a ball. The dunes provided some shelter against the January we A few steps away from the beach you will find The Gallivant, a dog friendly restaurant with rooms. A relaxing hideaway with 20 beautiful rooms, a roaring log fire and a book lined snug. The accommodation is a one storey, cabin-style and some rooms have access to gardens. You will need to check which ones are dog friendly when you book but I’m guessing quite a few are as there were 7 of us there when I visited. We had our own special tables in the bar area so we were all sat together for dinner and while I mingled with my new friends, all the humans ate some food and exchanged stories about us. I even met Charlie who lives with Helen George from something called “Call The Midwife”. The staff all loved us and were pleased to see us. The humans particularly liked Kurt because he knew a lot about those drinks they have that make them silly. It is very relaxed in the bar, some doggies were off the lead but I can’t be trusted not to head for the kitchens! The next morning all my networking the previous evening paid off because one of my new friends shared his black pudding with me. The humans enjoyed a buffet breakfast (for an extra charge you can have cooked) before we headed off to the beach and into Rye for lunch. Back at the hotel they enjoyed tea and cake in the afternoon which is served in the bar every day from 4pm (included in room rate). The room where we stayed for 2 nights was very comfortable and clean. I had access to the garden and my own bed and water bowl. The humans loved their huge bed. Gaynor says The Gallivant is a very nice place to spend your birthday. Maybe they will take me back for mine... Book your stay now at www.thegallivant.co.uk or follow them @thegallivant. I give The Gallivant 3 paws Archie 🐾🐾 P.s this is how I rate dog friendly places 1 paw - not really dog friendly, more dog tolerant! 2 paws - worth a visit if you are in the area 3 paws - very dog friendly, worth going a little bit out of your way 4 paws - super dog friendly (e.g have dog menu) worth a special trip

  • Pet Teezer

The best grooming products for your dog - Archie tests the de-tangling brush by Pet Teezer. Despite my protestations, Gaynor likes to brush me most days as she says it is good for me, so she was very pleased to receive this new brush from Pet Teezer for us to try. They have two types of brush and we tried the de-tangling one. Gaynor liked the ergonomic design which she said made it good to hold and because it is gentle I was happy to let her use it on me - I didn’t even run away when she got to my tail like I usually do. Using a patented two-tier teeth technology, the long teeth gently remove dirt, reaching confidently down to the undercoat, whilst the shorter teeth smooth the hair and protect against matting. Afterwards she said I looked very smart and that a lot of loose hair came out, making my coat feel soft. Of course, the best bit for me is getting a treat for being a good boy! Check out their website where you can buy the brushes and guides for the humans on how to groom us www.petteezer.com Gaynor will be using the Pet Teezer from now on to make sure I always look my best at our events. We hope to see you at our next one ! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/apres-christmas-dog-party-tickets-53155239753 Archie 🐾🐾

  • Mare Street Market

We stumbled across this place on our way to somewhere else and were delighted to find out it is dog friendly. What was once an office block is now a huge warehouse style space housing 2 restaurants, a bar, deli, bottle shop, coffee bar, record store, florist and other pop ups, currently a gelateria and a barber - don’t worry, they don’t do dogs! There is also a large outside space with more tables. The main area is an open kitchen style with various options for seating from comfy sofas to bar stools. Wherever you decide to sit, there is plenty of space and no danger of your tail getting stepped on. There are lots of waiters to take your order and you can choose from various menus. Mare Street Market has something for everyone from breakfast to dinner or just a coffee and cake. We doggies are allowed everywhere even in the very fancy looking Dining Room which is full of chandeliers and other unique home interiors - all of which are available to buy! The humans enjoyed their veggie breakfast from the Brunch Menu but did comment on how good the pizzas looked so I think we may be going back! I didn’t notice any water bowls around so maybe take your own but the staff were very helpful so I’m sure they would oblige if you ask. I highly recommend you visit Mare Street Market . Archie 🐾🐾

  • Smith & Whistle

When a restaurant creates a menu just for us doggies then I have to give it a try, it would be rude not to, right? So I took the humans and my pal Dudley along to Smith & Whistle to try their “Quarterhounder” which was specially created so that we doggies could join in the celebrations of National Burger Day. It was a super hot day when we visited so we were very pleased to find that inside the bar was nicely air-conditioned. There are a few tables outside but they do face onto Piccadilly which is very busy and noisy. Inside, however is very calm and spacious so plenty of room for us to stretch out. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and are very used to doggies taking photos on the furniture. We were brought water immediately in their very posh bowls and then we were asked if we would like to choose a dogtail from our very own menu. Dudley and I decided to share a Hound’s Hops, which was okay but I still prefer plain old water! The main event for me was obviously the Quarterhounder which was a chicken breast, sandwiched in between 2 slices of sweet potato with kale and cucumber. Dudley and I aren’t fans of the green stuff but the rest was delicious and we polished it off with relish (no there wasn’t any relish)!! The humans really enjoyed their burgers too and they said the chips were awesome! The food menu isn’t large as Smith & Whistle is the bar of the Sheraton Grand Piccadilly which has a full restaurant - unfortunately we aren’t allowed in there. So the food is very much “bar food” but very good quality. They do have an extensive cocktail menu which the humans were very interested in. I look forward to going back next National Burger Day - maybe we could have beef next time....

  • 5 places to visit after a walk in Hyde Park

Hyde Park is London’s most central Royal Park and is considered to be one of the best city parks in the world. We could spend a whole day exploring all that Hyde Park has to offer and it’s a great spot for a picnic. However, if the weather doesn’t permit or your humans are just not that organised, here are 5 fabulous dog friendly places nearby to refresh and refuel. Smith & Whistle This is the bar of The Sheraton Grand Hotel on Piccadilly and they absolutely love us doggies there! They even have a dogtail menu and often have special dog dishes on the menu like the Quarterhounder - a chicken and sweet potato burger served in their very special branded dog bowls. For the humans there is an extensive cocktail list and food is casual dining such as burgers and fish and chips. Find out more and read our full review of Smith & Whistle here.. Milestone Hotel The Milestone Hotel is a very grand building on Kensington Road, right opposite the park. We doggies are warmly welcomed by Steve the doorman who will happily pose for photos with us and then we are allowed in their Stables Bar and Conservatory. The humans can enjoy Afternoon Tea in the Conservatory or choose from the full menu in the bar. Find out more and read our full review of The Milestone Hotel here.. Saint Aymes One of London’s prettiest and most Instagrammable cafes. Saint Aymes is not just a pretty face, they also serve delicious cakes and desserts. The humans can also get Afternoon Tea here. Find out more about Saint Aymes here... The Grazing Goat A pub with rooms on a quiet side street off Oxford Street. The Grazing Goat is a great spot for breakfast before your walk or a delicious Sunday Roast - they have a sharing roast so you can persuade the humans to share with you. Find out more about The Grazing Goat here.... Egerton House Hotel Egerton House is a super dog friendly hotel. So much so that they even serve us our very own afternoon tea. While the humans tuck into their scones and funny little sandwiches, we get meatloaf, biscuits and ice cream presented just like the human version in a 3 tier bowl stand. Every dog should try it at least once. Find out more and read our full review of Egerton House Hotel here..
