- The Horse & Groom
The perfect place to rest your paws on a Cotswold mini break. After the humans being so sick in September, we decided to treat them to some fresh air in the Cotswolds countryside. What could be better than a night in an English Inn with your pooches by your side? The Horse & Groom is in a little village near Malmesbury. While we waited for our room to be ready, we enjoyed a couple of Butcombe beers by the fireside in the cosy bar. Nacho quickly noticed the jar of treats on the bar just for us! Okay we will share a few with the other visitors! Up in our room we found two comfy beds waiting for us and the humans had one of their own too! The room was spacious with lots of light from the window from where we could see the autumn colours of the village. Female human treated herself by relaxing in the roll top bath and using the Bramley Products provided. Time for dinner! The humans found it hard to choose from the menu as it all looked good. In the end, she went for a burger and he had fishcakes. They loved that the ingredients were seasonal and locally sourced and even better - some of it is grown in the pub's own kitchen garden! We’re passionate about great food and drink at The Horse & Groom and take pride in creating delicious seasonal dishes and innovative takes on pub classics using the freshest ingredients and local produce from our Westcountry larder, including herbs and vegetables from our very own kitchen garden. After a great night's sleep (the inn is on a busy road but is very quiet at night) we went for a stroll through the village and explored the pub garden. The garden is very pretty with loads of space to dine al fresco in warmer weather. We also discovered The Horse & Groom has a large event space where they host comedy nights and where humans can celebrate special occasions or even get married. Unfortunately, there was no proposal on this holiday! Enough exploring now humans! It's time for breakfast. Nacho spotted sausage on the menu and ordered us one each. Meanwhile, the humans very strangely refused sausage and opted for Poached Eggs with Avo and Shakshuka. We may never understand some of the things they like to eat but they loved it. We had a quick snooze back in the room while the humans decided what we would do for the rest of the day. The Horse & Groom is perfectly located for exploring the sights of Wiltshire and the South Cotswolds and is only a short drive from Westonbirt Arboretum, Tetbury and Castle Combe. You can find out more about visiting these beautiful places in our Dog Friendly Cotswolds blog. We highly recommend a four legged vacation at The Horse & Groom . David and his staff made us feel so welcome and we loved every minute of our stay. The Inn is a Butcombe Brewing Co Inn who have a collection of pubs and inns across the south of England. We look forward to exploring more of them!
- The Old Bell
Four legged foodies treated like royalty at this luxurious Malmesbury hotel. We have another claim to fame - we have now stayed in England's oldest hotel!! The Old Bell in Malmesbury has been around since 1220 and is now a stunning design hotel where all pooches are treated like VIPs. We arrived at the hotel after a full day exploring Westonbirt Arboretum and Tetbury and were welcomed by the friendly staff who gave us some water and gave the humans some of that special water they like called Prosecco. We were then shown to our room where Nacho quickly spotted the hamper of goodies waiting for us! It had everything we needed for our mini break, including toothpaste and toothbrush to keep our breath fresh. Which was lucky because we conveniently forgot to pack ours! Time to rest our little legs before dinner which we did in our very own four poster beds. Even the humans didn't get one of those! Nacho decided his new friend Gary the giraffe needed to join him. Four legged foodies are welcome to join their humans in the dining area next to the restaurant so we took our treats from our hamper while they enjoyed a delicious steak and monkfish in Thai red sauce. We named our Restaurant Saints & Sinners with a nod to Malmesbury Abbey next door to us and the Saints statues on display, collected by our owners on their travels. The Sinners part we added - as aren't we all a little naughty sometimes! Indeed we are!!! After dinner we retired to the drawing room (pooches are welcome in all public areas except the main restaurant area). The room is super cosy with a log fire and so many beautiful things to look at while you sip on a cocktail from the bar. Afternoon Tea is also served in this room. In every part of the hotel you will find many antiquities collected by the owner on his travels around the world. In the bar you will find the original 1220 fireplace from when the hotel hosted visiting dignitaries to Malmesbury Abbey. The abbey is right next to The Old Bell and makes a stunning backdrop for dramatic photos. Pooches are welcome inside the abbey and there's even a dog friendly café too. As you can see, we were very reluctant to leave The Old Bell and tried to go straight back in once the humans had checked out. Humans take note, we expect this VIP treatment at all times from now on!
- Pretty Villages, Colourful Walks and....Giraffes??
Four Legged Foodies enjoy an Autumn break in the Cotswolds (part 1) Sometimes even the most hardened city dogs need a break from the hustle, bustle and pollution! So this October, the humans packed us a bag, which we emptied out and refilled with treats then we headed to Malmesbury and the South Cotswolds for a well deserved mini-break. In just over 2 hours we arrived at The Horse & Groom which would be our new home for the night. This cosy inn has everything a four legged traveller could need and is perfectly located for exploring the area. You can read more about about our stay at The Horse & Groom here . If you want to find some beautiful Autumn colours, this area won't disappoint! We spent the day sniffing trees in Westonbirt Arboretum . Four legged visitors are welcome to stroll around off lead except in the old arboretum, and on the treetop walk where humans need to keep you safe! Entry tickets start at £11 (including parking) depending on the season. Nearby Tetbury is a pretty town with lots of boutique shops and coffee shops. If you're lucky you might even spot our new king as this is where he lives. We popped in to Martin & Malthouse so the humans could get some cake, as they hadn't eaten for at least an hour! The café had lots of homemade goodies and is also a bottle shop and artisan deli. The next place we stayed at holds the title of oldest hotel in England. Can you believe The Old Bell in Malmesbury has been around since 1220? And we thought our humans were old! After all that fresh air, we needed to rest our paws for a bit on the luxurious four poster beds in our room. The staff at The Old Bell really spoil their four legged visitors and the hotel is full of unusual antiquities. You can read more about our visit here . The main attraction in Malmesbury is the 12th century Abbey which is right next to the hotel. Pooches can join their humans as they learn about some more old stuff and we are also welcome in the café. The humans love that strange water they call beer, so were delighted to find a place in Malmesbury where they make the stuff. Flying Monk Brewery has a café, shop and tap inside a converted Cotswold barn. They love pooches and even have a jar of treats on the bar for us. A short drive from Malmesbury is THE most picturesque of all the Cotswold villages. Castle Combe (also pictured in title image) is featured in many photos of the area and is a favoured film location. The village is small with only a couple of pubs and shops but well worth a visit for those Instagram shots! The Cotswolds is completely land-locked but if you're missing the beach, head to Cotswold Country Park & Beach which home to the largest inland beach in UK. Pooches can wander around the wooded areas that surround the lake and can even accompany humans on boats and pedalos. They only ask that dogs don't swim in the lakes as they are very deep! Entrance is free with just a small parking charge. We will look back fondly on our first trip to the Cotswolds but watch this space for part 2 coming soon.
- We Know How to Staycation
Our stay at London's most Instagrammable Hotel. Our humans needed to use up some holiday from work but didn't want to travel too far so we decided to treat ourselves to a stay at nhow London. We stayed in the penthouse suite which has fabulous views across the City of London and is well equipped for a family stay. We each had our own luxurious room, glamorous dog bowls and plenty of space to run around on a carpet that looks our local park. We heard that they serve a doggie afternoon tea so we used the dog and bone to call down and reserve a table for 2! Our afternoon tea did not disappoint. In fact we would say it's the best we ever had! We had a selection of pupcakes, peanut butter bones, cookies and a puppuccino. There was so much we had to have a doggy bag to enjoy in our room later. The humans also had their own tea and cake so they didn't feel left out. It would be a crime to stay at a nhow Hotel and not take hundreds of photos as there is so much to see. We are always camera ready and happy to pose in return for treats. We joined our humans for dinner in the bar area (pooches are welcome in the restaurant but there was a private event on the night we stayed). The menu is pub style food such as burgers and fish and chips. The humans also enjoyed a few cocktails. Luckily we were still full from our tea so we slept in the Pooch and Mutt beds under the table. All that posing and eating is hard work you know! Time to retire to our super comfy room for a long sleep and dream about breakfast. The breakfast is buffet style served in the bar area and we were delighted to get our obligatory sausage. Then we had to squeeze in a few more photos before we checked out. It's thirsty work being a superstar so lucky there are plenty of water stations available. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at nhow London . The staff make doggies feel as welcome as any human guests and we highly recommend a stay to all our Four Legged pals. Check out our reel for the full experience of our stay. Some things you need to know before you visit: There is a small car park (10 spaces) with a cost of £35 per day The hotel is within Congestion Zone ULEZ A max of 2 dogs per room Dogs below 25kg are welcome in the rooms Dogs pay £35 per stay Dogs are welcome in all areas

Pooches are treated like royalty at Los Mochis as the restaurant is named after a dog! They often have special treats for dogs like their pooch menu which they offer on National Dog Day. So imagine our delight when we got to accompany the humans to an Indian restaurant. Chatora is not a curry house, instead you get dishes like lobster, lamb shank and tiger prawns all served with intense flavours. The staff even brought us some lamb (no spices) to try so we didn’t feel left out. Now, strictly we pooches are welcome outside this restaurant but it’s more of an inside/outside space - completely covered roof and sides and plenty of heaters and blankets. We visited in November and we weren't cold. Where: Chatora 100 Kew Rd, Richmond TW9 2PQ Follow: chatora_richmond

- This is the Place
Sloane Place, Chelsea is the perfect London hotel for an indulgent dog friendly stay At the beginning of February, the humans left us for a holiday in the sun so to make up for abandoning us, we were treated to a stay at Sloane Place in Chelsea. The hotel is in a magnificent building on Sloane Street, which runs from Sloane Square down to the river. We stayed in a suite which has a comfy living area with everything you'll need including beds for us and a coffee machine for the humans. The rooms have views across the Thames to Battersea Power Station. Before dinner we like to have a little freshen up and always take our Sniffe & Likkit woofpack on our overnight stays. Pooches are welcome to join their humans anywhere in the restaurant and will be offered treats and water. The menu for humans is British-Javanese inspired and is all beautifully presented alongside a good selection of cocktails. - A Place to Spread your Wings
Four Legged Foodies stay at this beautiful dog friendly hotel in Wandsworth. We recently visited The Spread Eagle in Wandsworth for dinner and an overnight stay and are pleased to report that it far exceeded our expectations. We have driven past the pub hundreds of times as it is on the Wandsworth gyratory, and despite the grand façade of this huge pub, we never thought of visiting. But we are so glad we finally did. Across the covered courtyard from the pub you will find the hotel which has 21 beautifully decorated rooms with plenty of space for pooches to stay with their humans. The hotel is a grade II listed Victorian building which has been restored with many original features remaining. Beds, bowls and treats await four legged guests in the room. Nacho checked out the mini bar - just water for him! Like the hotel, the pub is a beautiful Victorian building that has been recently restored. It is a huge space with a wonderful bar and a mixture of comfy seats and tables. The building has been a Young's Pub since 1836 and has a rich history which you can read more about here . We visited on a Sunday so we could sample their famous roasts and we weren't disappointed. Our humans sampled 28-day day aged fore rib of beef and Rolled Blyburgh pork belly with all the trimmings and lashings of scrumptious gravy. Accompanied nicely by some red wine. We gave them just the right amount of adorable looks to make sure we got a taste too! With full bellies all round, we retired to our room for a good night's sleep. Our room faced the busy road but fortunately it's not that busy overnight and we didn't hear the traffic until it was time to get up for breakfast. Breakfast is served back in the pub with choices like eggs benedict, Orange and Fennel Cured Smoked Salmon, scrambled Eggs, Smashed Avo etc but the humans always go for a full English with extra sausage for us! We walked off that extra sausage at nearby Wandsworth Park which is just a short stroll from The Spread Eagle. It's a small park but has great views of the Thames. We had a perfect night at The Spread Eagle and highly recommend to our friends visiting London for a reasonably priced stay, just 15 minutes from central London. Our humans have been enjoying their baked goods, especially their signature cinnamon social, for years and now they are right on our doorstep. - We Don't Like to Brag but...
We loved our visit to dog friendly wine bar and restaurant Humble Grape Grapes are an absolute no, no for dogs so luckily you will only find the liquid version at Humble Grape in the hundreds of bottles of wine for your humans to choose from. We visited the Battersea Rise location (which we booked on Wagit ) and were greeted with treats from the friendly staff. Pooches are welcome throughout the bar and restaurant but they do get very busy in the evenings so choose your times depending on your dog's sensibilities! At this restaurant there are a few stairs to negotiate to get to your table but they were very accommodating about somewhere to put our friend Lola's stroller. Make sure your humans are sensible around all that wine by pairing it with some delicious food. They can choose from nibbles like Nocellara olives and smoked almonds, cheese and charcuterie boards, main course like cote de boeuf and seared stonebass. Or, like our humans, choose a selection of small plates. They tried padron peppers, burrata with Rhubarb, radish, mint and lemon pesto, chilli fried chicken, crispy cauliflower, monkfish medallions and trout ceviche. Every bite was a mouthful of joy!
